Dharma Naidu

Dharma Naidu ’93, PharmD, BCOP, APh earned his doctor of pharmacy (PharmD) from University of the Pacific in 1993. He completed a post-graduate year one hospital practice residency at Travis Air Force Base and a pain management and palliative care traineeship through the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists. Dr. Naidu is a founding member of the Society of Pain and Palliative Care Pharmacists. He is also a member of the Hematology and Oncology Pharmacists Association.
He is a board-certified oncology pharmacist and has an in-depth knowledge of pain management. Using his expertise in palliative care, Dr. Naidu works closely with patients and their families to make difficult decisions regarding care goals. He has worked at Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula for over 25 years. Dr. Naidu has been involved in building a community collaboration between community providers and hospitals within Monterey County focused on enhancing palliative care services.
What he loves about his role at Pacific is the opportunity to teach and learn from the bright young minds that will change pharmacy practice in the years to come. His goal is to expand the opportunities and elective options for PharmD students during their Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experience rotations.
He enjoys spending time with his wife, son and daughter. In his free time, he likes reading, hiking and traveling.

Teaching Philosophy: “One of my goals is for students to see the big picture. I want to help them improve the ways they communicate with patients, families and the health care team. I want students to really understand how what we do, and not do, impacts our patients. My philosophy is teaching by collaboration, not intimidation.”
