Divya Desai
Divya Desai, OTD, MS, OTR/L, LSVT-Big is an Assistant Clinical Professor for the Doctor of Occupational Therapy Program at the University of the Pacific. Dr. Desai’s career in occupational therapy spans over a decade. She completed her Bachelors in Occupational Therapy from T. N. Medical College, India. After working there for two years, she moved to the USA and pursued a post-professional MS in Occupational Therapy from Tufts University, Boston, MA. After working for another 2 years, she pursued a post-professional Occupational Therapy Doctorate from Virginia Commonwealth University, Richmond, VA. Her primary area of practice has been geriatrics and she has obtained many certifications to deliver quality patient care. Physical agent modalities, myofascial release, ergonomics, and LSVT-Big approach for Parkinson’s rehabilitation are a few to name. Prior to joining the University of the Pacific, Dr. Desai successfully managed her private practice, where she assisted clients with Parkinson’s disease regain their independence within the comfort of their homes.
In her free time, she likes to read, travel, explore new trails, or spend time at a beach. She is fluent in four languages (English, Gujarati, Hindi & Marathi) and takes great pride in her journey, as a first-generation, female, international student and now an occupational therapy practitioner. “
