Linda Coco
Linda E. Coco joined the University of the Pacific McGeorge School of Law faculty in July 2024 as the Director of the Legal Clinics and a Professor of Law. Coco is the co-director of McGeorge’s Bankruptcy Clinic, which is dedicated to advancing access to debt relief. Professor Coco’s expertise includes Bankruptcy Law, Civil Procedure, Contracts Law, and Commercial Law. Professor Coco strongly believes in the importance of clinical practice and other forms of experiential learning.
Professor Coco completed her PhD in Legal Anthropology from the University of California, Berkeley, in 2011 and a JD from the University of Maryland School of Law in 2000. Before taking the position at McGeorge School of Law, Professor Coco taught and Directed the Master of Law Program at Golden Gate University School of Law. She also taught at Barry University School of Law and in the LLM program at St. John’s University School of Law in New York.
Before teaching, Professor Coco clerked in the United States Bankruptcy Courts for the District of Maryland and the Northern District of California.
Professor Coco has authored several articles on Neoliberalism, debt, and bankruptcy. Professor Coco authored Children First: A Parent's Guide to Fighting Corporate Predators with Ralph Nader, published in 1996.
