The goals of the Medicare Part D community efforts include lowering out-of-pocket prescription medication expenses, improving drug therapy outcomes and enhancing the quality-of-life of assisted beneficiaries.

What he loves about teaching at Pacific is the opportunity to work in a close-knit environment, which he believes facilitates quality learning. For Dr. Patel, his students are at the center of everything he does, whether it is teaching, mentoring or working with them on research. It is his goal in his role at Pacific to help put students in a position to succeed as future practitioners.

Dr. Patel is a member of the American Public Health Association, the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy, the American Society of Consultant Pharmacists and the International Society for Pharmacoeconomics and Outcomes Research. He is also involved in the Kappa Psi Pharmaceutical Fraternity, the Phi Lambda Sigma Leadership Society, the Rho Chi Honor Society and Phi Kappa Phi.

Dr. Patel considers himself to be a kid at heart. He enjoys both watching and playing sports, especially basketball, volleyball, golf and racquetball. In 2011, he was asked to be a faculty guest coach for the men's volleyball team. He is the tallest member of his family for at least three generations by at least seven inches.
