Robert Henderson
Rob Henderson joined University of the Pacific in December 2000 and currently serves as chief technology officer and vice president for technology. In this role, he partners with business units to identify the roles and responsibilities for applications that enable the business to succeed. Presently, he is involved in several security initiatives to reduce risks and increase Pacific Technology safety.
Henderson leads the teams that enable classroom technology, internet, network, telecom, email, web servers and data center operations.
Recent projects he has launched include the Ellucian advising system, enablement of email in Office 365, migrations of critical services to cloud infrastructure including websites, Ellucian Banner, endpoint detection and response and disaster recovery services.
Among his current projects are Pacific’s new campus portal, multifactor authentication, an OnBase upgrade, supporting the Sacramento campus expansion associated with the Pacific Health Care Collaborative and the phone system replacement.
Henderson has held several positions in his 24 years with Pacific, including project manager, manager of network engineering services and executive director of infrastructure services. In the latter role, he led the IT implementations of internet technologies, new email systems, a new phone system, network refreshes and updated classroom technology. Henderson collaborated on the construction of Pacific’s Monagan Hall, Chan Family Health Sciences Learning Center, Biological Sciences Center, DeRosa University Center and Biological Laboratories building; the renovation of Hand Hall; the relocation of the dental school; renovations of the Sacramento Campus Library; and countless moves of departments. He has been involved with new data center builds on all three campuses.
Before Pacific he led the build of the CSU Stanislaus Stockton campus as the Instructional Coordinator. He graduated from CSU Stanislaus with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Information Systems and has an MBA.
In 2008 Henderson was named one of the Premier 100 IT leaders by CIO Magazine.
Henderson earned an Enterprise Architect certification from the Enterprise Architecture Center of Excellence in 2018. In 2005, he completed the EDUCAUSE Institute Management Program and holds a certification as a Cisco Certified Network Associate.
