Professor Thomas A. Cinti is currently Senior Assistant Regional Counsel in the Office of Regional Counsel for the United States Environmental Protection Agency, Region III, where he focuses on complex Superfund litigation. He is also the Region’s expert on bankruptcy matters and serves on the National Bankruptcy Workgroup.  In addition, Professor Cinti is the Regional Lead Counsel for Revitalization and in that capacity, he oversees the reuse of contaminated properties and the Region’s application of EPA’s Brownfields policies.

      

Professor Cinti is an Adjunct Professor at Holy Family University where he teaches negotiations, advanced negotiations, alternative dispute resolution, business and human resources law, and environmental science. For 10 years Professor Cinti was also a guest lecturer at Southern Methodist University’s Center for Dispute Resolution and Conflict Management, where he taught negotiations as well as alternative dispute resolution in public policy matters.

    

Prior to joining the EPA, Professor Cinti practiced environmental law in New Jersey in the private sector.  He received a Bachelor of Science degree, Summa Cum Laude, from the University of Scranton, a Master of Science in environmental health sciences from Harvard University’s School of Public Health, and a law degree with honors and Order of the Coif from Rutgers School of Law-Newark.  He is currently a member of the bars of the State of New Jersey, the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey, and the United States Third Circuit Court of Appeals.

    

Professor Cinti especially enjoys helping students translate the abstract theories of negotiations into practical strategies and tactics that students can apply in both their professional and private lives.
