University of the Pacific’s percussion studio provides a rich, hands-on experience with access to practice studios and rehearsal spaces equipped with the best percussion instruments available. Each semester you will gain invaluable experience performing a variety of parts with University Symphony Orchestra, Pacific Wind Bands and the Pacific Percussion Ensemble. These experiences support our commitment to creativity and collaboration in our studio.

Our percussion graduates are successful music educators, passionate music therapists, and have attended graduate school programs around the country.

Repertoire and Guest Artists

Our students explore a challenging and rewarding landscape of contemporary chamber music. You will regularly perform new works by living composers and learn from our guests such as recent resident-artists Kevin Bobo, Stefon Harris and Third Coast Percussion (pictured during a performance at Faye Spanos concert Hall).
