The Music Management degree at University of the Pacific prepares students for a wide variety of music careers where knowledge and understanding of music performance, repertoire, styles and history are valuable assets. We foster learning qualities such as innovation, risk-taking, experiential learning and out-of-the-box thinking and understand that innovation and creativity are necessary aspects of entrepreneurship. Your success depends on career readiness upon graduation. To achieve that, our students conceive and execute music and media projects such as recordings, videos, websites and tour packages, and produce various promotions, especially in conjunction with social media.

How to apply and audition
I decided to take on a BM in music management with a jazz minor because smaller class sizes enable me to make real connections with faculty and staff, allowing them to help me choose which path to take. Participating in internships and Pacific’s student-run label, Pac Ave Records, give me hands-on experience in the music industry field.

A scholarship fund, established by the Music Management Advisory Board, which allows students to participate in off-campus experiential learning internships taken for academic credit. Students receive a stipend for their housing, travel and living expenses. Current Pacific majors in Music Management, Music Industry Studies or Arts & Entertainment are eligible to apply. Students in the Music Industry and Music Management programs benefit from the involvement of active Advisory Board composed of a broad set of industry leaders, company founders and entrepreneurs. Founded in 2008, the Board was the driving force behind the development of Pacific's innovative Music Industry Studies program. The members provide advice on curriculum, internship and job placement for students and alumni, and serve on occasion as coaches or mentors in student projects. They also engage in valuable one-on-one advice at the Mentoring Brunch held each spring on the Stockton campus.
"Attending Pacific provided me with the resources, mentorship and professional connections to help establish my career after graduation and continues to provide those same benefits to this day. I'm grateful for this experience and proud to be a Tiger!"
