The Western Regional Examining Board (WREB) for dental hygiene was recently held at the Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry on July 18. WREB is one of the five examination agencies for dentists and dental hygienists in the United States. All ten of the students in the Dental Hygiene Class of 2020 passed the exam, making them the first class to pass WREBs with a 100% pass rate since the clinical portion of the program moved to the San Francisco Campus in 2017. 

“Our class has had an eventful year and hand-scaling WREBs was our last challenge,” said Dental Hygiene Class of 2020 President Stephanie Tu. “This just goes to show our resilience and determination as a class and how we turned adversity into success!” 

“Thank you to Professor Laughter and all of the faculty and staff involved in preparing our graduates,” said Dean Nadershahi. “Congratulations to all of our graduates, faculty, and staff who have put in incredible effort and innovation to maintain the high standards of excellence we set for ourselves and one another.” 

The Dugoni School offers an accelerated Bachelor of Science Degree in Dental Hygiene for qualified students. In addition to clinical practice, the baccalaureate hygiene degree allows entry into numerous positions in teaching, research, administration, public health, private industry and other areas of hygiene practice.
