Faculty find creative ways to continue “Pacific touch” during distance teaching
Pacific faculty are finding personal and creative ways to continue the university’s hallmark approach to student-centered teaching as they adapt to distance learning amidst the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak.
Faculty are going way beyond Zoom and Webex and doing truly remarkable things with the distance model—and under pressure, said English professor Courtney Lehman.
Lehman shared a picture of her students who were in the middle of an intense research seminar conversation. The joy in the students’ faces struck her as proof that the “Pacific touch” continues during a time when it is difficult to demonstrate that, she said.
