James Graham to coach Team USA at Summer Universiade games
Pacific water polo head coach James Graham has been announced as the head coach for Team USA for the women's water polo team at the 30th Summer Universiade games held in Napoli, Italy, in July.
Hosting the 30th edition of this multi-sport event (July 2 -14), this summer tournament will feature 18 sports and welcome over 8,000 athletes from all over the world to compete in their event.
Graham earns the honor of head coach following a decorated resume of international experience. As an active member of the U.S. National Olympic programs dating back to 2005, Graham recently served as the Head Men's Water Polo Coach for Team USA at the 2017 University Games in Taipei. The men would finish ninth overall that year taking an 18-8 victory over Canada in their final match of the tournament.
The three-time Golden Coast Conference Coach of the Year also served as the head of analytics for both the men's and women's national teams during the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and conducted statistical analysis for the U.S. Men's Water Polo team at the London Olympics.
At Pacific, Graham led the Pacific men's team to a GCC regular season title and GCC Championship appearance in 2018. With the women's team, the Tigers are currently in the brink of the season, taking two pivotal wins against No. 6 Michigan and No. 7 UC Irvine at the Barbara Kalbus Tournament in Irvine, Califonia, last weekend.
