Six outstanding University of the Pacific alumni were honored for their contributions to society and lasting impact to the university at the 2023 Distinguished Alumni Awards dinner Jan. 28. 

The recipients are:

•    Tony Chan ’77 and Virginia (Chang) Chan ’77, philanthropists and pharmacy owners, Medallion of Excellence Award
•    Leonard Armato ’75, former chief marketing officer of Skechers, Distinguished Professional Service Award
•    Daniel Idzkowski ’12, entrepreneur and inventor, Outstanding Young Alumni Award
•    Ted Leland ’70, ’74, former athletics director, Distinguished University Service Award
•    Cindy (Bava) Spiro ’76, ’84, Title IX pioneer, Distinguished Public Service Award
