Crises and traumatic events like the death of George Floyd and related incidents around the country can trigger overwhelming emotional responses that affect us at home and at work. University of the Pacific cares about its people and we want to let you know about some of the resources available to help during this time:
- As of 2021, Pacific’s Employee Assistance Program (EAP) has caring, professional consultants who can provide you immediate and confidential guidance, resources and support. They are available 24/7/365. Please Visit our EAP webpage for more information.
- The Steve Fund’s Crisis Text Line offers culturally trained counselors to help young people of color who are feeling stressed, depressed or anxious and would like to communicate with someone. Just text STEVE to 741741.
- The California Warm Line is a non-emergency resource for anyone seeking emotional support and would like to speak with a peer by phone at 855.845.7415 or via chat/IM through their website.
- Each Mind Matters has mental health resources specific to diverse communities.
- Mental Health California has put together a resource list for anyone in California who is struggling with their mental health. This page contains links categorized by ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation and mental health condition.
Lastly, please contact the Human Resources office on your campus if there is any additional support we can offer you.
