University of the Pacific has campuses in two of the top 10 most diverse cities in the country, and a third in the top 20, according to a recent analysis of census data by U.S. News and World Report.

University of the Pacific has campuses in two of the top 10 most diverse cities in the country, and a third in the top 20, according to a recent analysis of census data by U.S. News and World Report.

Stockton was listed as the No. 1 most diverse city and Sacramento came in at No. 3 on the list, according to the news outlet’s analysis of 66 U.S. cities with populations of 300,000 or more. San Francisco came in as the 19th most diverse city in the country.

Pacific is deeply committed to diversity and inclusion, and has been ranked No. 30 for Best Ethnic Diversity by U.S. News and World Report in its 2020 survey of top colleges. Pacific’s welcoming environment prepares Pacific graduates for success in an intercultural world. Creating a diverse, inclusive learning environment is part of the university’s overall strategic plan and the university created a parallel Diversity Strategic Plan several years ago.

The university also recently launched a grant that provides students, staff and faculty on each campus an opportunity to seek funding to support events and programming that enhance diversity and inclusion at Pacific.

Pacific’s commitment has been recognized with the following rankings:

• The Princeton Review ranked Pacific’s McGeorge School of Law as No. 7 on a list of Greatest Resources for Minority Students for 2019.
• preLaw Magazine listed McGeorge among its Most Diverse Law Schools in 2019.
• Diverse Issues in Higher Education listed Pacific among the “Top 100 Minority Degree Producers 2016.”
