A standout University of the Pacific women’s water polo player was selected as an honorable mention for this year’s All-America Team by the Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches—one of more than a dozen student-athletes to receive special regional and national recognition this spring.

Sophomore Hila Futorian led the Tigers with 69 goals and 91 points and was one of the most prolific offensive players in the Golden Coast Conference, finishing fourth in goals scored and sixth in scoring (goals and assists combined).

“I’m proud of Hila. This honor is well deserved,” said Head Coach James Graham. “She is a fantastic player, but an even better teammate with a willingness to play any position, based on what’s best for the team. I’m grateful that she was recognized for her significant contributions.”

Futorian recorded career-bests with six goals and seven points in a conference win over Concordia late in the season. In the seven league contests, she tallied 25 goals, helping the Tigers to a 5-2 mark, good for third place in the eight-team league.

Futorian was also named to the All-Golden Coast Conference first team. She was one of five Tigers honored. Classmate Szamira Koppány was named to the all-conference second team. She finished sixth in the conference with 63 goals.

Red-shirt senior Clara Vulpisi was an All-GCC Honorable Mention choice. The goalkeeper finished second in the conference in goal against average at 9.5 and was third in steals with 34. Vulpisi was named to the GCC All-Tournament Team after helping the Tigers to a runner-up finish. Graduate student Brianna Utas was also selected to the GCC All-Tournament squad.

Freshmen Dora Alaksza and Alicia Petkov were named the all-freshman team. Alaksza finished third with 58 goals while Petkov was fifth with 32.

Baseball

Graduate student outfielder Ben Nemivant was an All-West Coast Conference first team selection after one of the all-time best hitting seasons in Pacific history. His .398 batting average was second-best in the WCC and 27^th in the country. Nemivant led the Tigers in hits, doubles, slugging percentage and RBI.

Catcher Jeremy Lea was an honorable mention selection to the all-conference team. He hit .301 in his final season and was second on the team in doubles and home runs.

Softball

Senior Carly Lucchetti led three Tigers who earned honorable mention All-West Coast Conference honors. It was the third time the league honored Luccetti with all-conference selection. The graduate student outfielder hit .261 and had a team-leading nine stolen bases.

Sophomore Delany Scully led the squad in hitting with a .300 average, earning all-WCC honors for the second time. She excelled in league play, hitting .333. Freshman Allie Capello was an honorable mention choice after hitting .277 in her inaugural campaign

Tennis

Junior Ran Amar was named to the All-WCC second team for singles. He had a 5-2 mark in WCC play, primarily at No. 2 singles. On the women’s side, the doubles team of Klara Kosan and Karina Chao were named all-conference. The duo had a 7-5 record at No. 1 doubles, including a 3-4 mark in conference.
