No matter your major, a minor in film studies adds depth, understanding and practical skills to your Pacific education. You’ll explore the study and creation of film and television with this minor, ultimately giving you the ability to achieve your goals as a creator, producer or academic.

Pacific goes to Sundance

Media X students attended the 2021 Sundance Film Festival, held virtually for the first time. Twenty students were able to watch film premieres and take part in panel discussions with some of the independent film industry’s hottest artists, thanks to generous donors.

Four film studies electives (16 units)

Film studies is a flexible program that gives you the freedom and flexibility to fit the minor alongside your major. Fine tune the film studies minor by taking electives in the areas of:  

  • Film history 
  • Screenwriting 
  • Film production 
  • Postproduction  
  • Business of film
