AACSB International extends accreditation of the Eberhardt School of Business
University of the Pacific’s Eberhardt School of Business remains one of a select group of academic institutions with global accreditation in business at the highest universal standard certifying a program's quality.
AACSB International announced on April 4, 2024, the extensions in accreditation in business for the University of the Pacific and 26 other schools. The business programs managed by the Eberhardt School are part of 1,021 institutions in more than 65 countries and territories that hold this designation, which is less than 6.2% of all business schools worldwide.
“We are delighted that AACSB International has once again recognized Pacific’s Eberhardt School,” said Lewis R. Gale, interim dean of the Eberhardt School of Business. “Students who enroll in our programs can be confident they are receiving a world-class business and management education from distinguished faculty teaching a rigorous, top-notch curriculum.”
The Eberhardt School first earned AACSB accreditation in 1984 and has continuously maintained its accreditation for the past 40 years. Poets&Quants has ranked the Eberhardt School’s undergraduate programs No. 1 in the West among schools with fewer than 7,000 total students for the past four years.
Founded in 1916, AACSB stated its accreditation is a mission-driven, rigorous process that includes an in-depth assessment of internal activities, mentorship with an AACSB advisor, and a peer-reviewed evaluation focused on continuous improvement. During this multiyear path, schools focus on developing and implementing a plan to achieve their mission and align with AACSB’s accreditation standards. These principles-based standards require excellence in areas relating to strategic management and innovation, research, and teaching and learning.
“AACSB congratulates each institution on achieving AACSB accreditation,” said Stephanie Bryant, executive vice president and global chief accreditation officer at AACSB. “The commitment to earning accreditation is a true reflection of each school’s dedication—not only to its students, alumni network and greater business community—but to society as a whole.”
