McGeorge awards some academic merit and need-based scholarships to LLM and JSD students. These awards are made available by the allocation of University general funds, as well as the generosity of donors by means of endowed funds and alumni contributions.
General Eligibility: All incoming LLM and JSD students are eligible for scholarship consideration.
Deadline: Funding is limited — students are encouraged to apply as early as possible.
International Programs Fund: Young Lawyers
Partial scholarships are available to incoming students of Asian or Asian-American origin, or to incoming students who will be engaged in an Asia-Pacific law project while enrolled in the program.
LLM Programs Endowed Scholarship
For the LLM in Transnational Business Practice, partial scholarships are available for incoming students. Recipients are selected on the basis of academic achievement, financial need, and career intent.
Emil Schnellbacher Memorial Scholarship
For the LLM in Transnational Business Practice, partial scholarships are available to incoming students who have a demonstrated interest in German or Austrian affairs, or who are involved with public agencies.
Fulbright Scholarship
McGeorge partners with the Fulbright Foreign Student Program. Fulbright is the most widely recognized and prestigious international exchange program in the world, supported for more than half a century by the American people through an annual appropriation from the U.S. Congress and by the people of partner nations.

Ognian Gavrilov Bulgarian LLM Student Scholarship
Partial scholarships are available for a student(s) enrolled in the McGeorge’s LLM program who is a Bulgarian citizen. The award is based on academic merit as well as need (financial need to be assessed based on a statement of need provided by prospective recipients).
Professor Stephen McCaffrey Scholarship for Water and Environmental Law
For the LLM and JSD in Water & Environmental Law, partial scholarships are available for incoming students. Recipients are selected on the basis of academic achievement, financial need, and career intent.
Need-Based Scholarship
For each of our LLM and JSD programs, partial scholarships are offered to incoming students based on financial need.
Merit-Based Scholarship
For each of our LLM and JSD programs, partial scholarships are offered based on strong academic qualifications.
Rocky Mountain Mineral Law Foundation (RMMLF) Scholarship
The RMMLF offers scholarships to admitted LLM applicants who are to or enrolled full time at one of the Foundation’s Constituent Law Schools and who can demonstrate a commitment to the study of natural resources law (LLM in Water Resources Law). Scholarships may cover partial of full tuition.
