The Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry is a significant contributor to San Francisco's and the Bay Area's economy, as well as to its oral health.
According to an economic impact statement by Pacific's Business Forecasting Center released in 2022, the school is responsible for more than $171 million annually in economic activity in the San Francisco Bay Area. The dental school employs 500-plus people, and the school's expenditures sustain more than 900 non-dental school jobs.
In addition, our clinics provide approximately $500,000 of uncompensated dental care on an annual basis and another $10 million of care at substantially reduced prices to assist the culturally and socio-economically diverse population of the San Francisco Bay Area.
The Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry has been providing oral health care services to the community for more than 125 years, and is dedicated to educating dental professionals who are committed to improving the oral health of all people.
Each year, our faculty, students, residents and staff care for approximately 20,000 patients at the school's clinics in downtown San Francisco, and participate in many outreach events held across the Bay Area that serve people from all walks of life.
The Dugoni School family makes a difference in the lives of thousands of people each year, and we are fulfilling our purpose of helping people lead healthy lives. Our Year in Review report highlights just some of the great happenings over the last year across our academic programs, clinical services, research, community outreach and other areas.
